Six Seminarians Receive Diaconal Ordination
On Sunday, June 16, six seminarians from Barcelona were ordained deacons at the Sagrada Família in a celebration presided over by the auxiliary bishop of Barcelona, David Abadías. The new deacons are Xavier Campmany, Javier Casals, Santi Claret, Guillem Lisicic, David Lucena and Joan Piñol.
The Message of Bishop Abadías
During the celebration, Bishop Abadías encouraged the new deacons to have the heart of the Good Shepherd, a heart dedicated to the good of the sheep and their growth.

The ordination liturgy was particularly lively, with the new deacons expressing their commitment in front of the bishop and prostrating themselves on the ground as a sign of humility and prayer, while the Litany of the Saints was sung.

The laying on of hands and the prayer expressed by the diocesan pastor himself completed the rite in its central part. This moment gave way to the gesture of dressing the new ministers, with the diaconal stole and the dalmatic on top.
