The conflict in Gaza
Approximately six months ago, the war between Israel and Hamas began, and the bombing of the Gaza Strip continues to this day. This conflict has generated great concern internationally and has led to mobilizations to seek a peaceful solution.
Humanitarian aid
While a solution to the conflict is sought, humanitarian aid for civilians in the Gaza Strip has been insufficient. Although efforts have been made to send supplies to the population, the arrival of aid has been limited. According to the United Nations, 97 trucks with supplies have so far managed to enter through a floating dock installed by the United States on the coast of Gaza.
The World Food Program has been responsible for the distribution of these supplies, but they have faced difficulties in ensuring that they reach the hands of the population equitably. To avoid looting and ensure the delivery of aid, different distribution routes have been established.
The balance of victims
The conflict in Gaza has left a high number of victims. According to the health authorities controlled by Hamas, so far 35,857 people have died and 80,293 have been injured. These figures include both civilians and members of the armed forces involved in the conflict.
It is important to highlight that the situation in Gaza remains insecure, making food distribution by the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) difficult. Despite the challenges, work continues to stabilize the delivery of humanitarian aid and ensure it reaches those who need it most.
