The Festa Major de Gràcia recognizes the magic of Miyazaki in Mozart

A cinematic tribute that shines

Carrer Mozart has captured the essence of the Festa Major de Gràcia 2024 with a decoration inspired by the films of Studio Ghibli. The proposal, which pays tribute to the legendary director Hayao Miyazaki, was the winner of the first prize in a competition that surprises every year with its creativity. The Festa Major de Gràcia Foundation announced the winners on August 19, highlighting the impact of the decorations that have left an indelible mark on the attendees.

The podium of creativity

In the ranking of decorated streets, Plaça Rovira i Trias took second place with a Wedding Chapel theme, while Carrer Jesús completed the podium with its original Discodèlia proposal. This year marked a significant change for Mozart, who had not been able to lift the prize for two decades.

Special awards and recognitions

In addition to the main awards, special mentions have been awarded that have highlighted diversity and innovation in decorations. The Dolça Festa Award went to Joan Blanques de Baix, Perill and Fraternitat de Baix streets. Casa Vicens Gaudí also recognized Calle Joan Blanques in Baix de Tot with a special award.

Sustainability and creativity

Carrer Jesús has been awarded for the second consecutive year in the Reuse category, thanks to its Discodèlia theme. On the other hand, Carrer Verdi stood out with the Artistic Detail Award for its inspiration in the marquees of Gràcia, while Carrer Tordera took home the Lighting Award with a fascinating jellyfish design.

Innovation and technology in focus

The Festers Power 2024 Award has been awarded to the Fraternitat de Dalt and Progrés street commissions for the best Instagram capture of the process of preparing the decorations, both with a touch of retro video games. Progrés has also stood out in the Innovation and Technology category.

Decoration that transforms the environment

The awards don’t stop there; the first prize for the Decoration of Portals and Shops went to the decoration ‘Res brut’ in Calle Sant Joaquim, while ‘El pati de la calma’ was awarded as the best in Decoration of Balconies and Windows in Calle Santa Magdalena .
