Salvador Illa rules out agreeing with Junts+
The candidate of the PSC in the Catalan elections, Salvador Illa, has stated that he will not agree with Junts+ after the elections. According to Illa, their logics are incompatible and Junts+ represents the lost decade. In a conference organized by the Barcelona Economic Society of Friends of the Country, Illa emphasized that he is betting on a strong government and not a blockade.
Possible surprises in the elections
Illa has expressed that he expects two surprises in the elections. The first would be to get a majority and have enough strength to govern. The second would be for the Catalan Vox, Sílvia Orriols, to enter Parliament and decant a part of independence into a worrying drift.
He does not see any of the pro-independence candidates as president
When asked if he sees himself becoming president of any of the pro-independence candidates, Illa says frankly no. He also assures that he will not be asked from Madrid to invest Pere Aragonès or Carles Puigdemont and concludes by affirming that the future of the Generalitat de Catalunya will be decided from Catalonia.
