A commitment to mobility
As part of the last election, I expressed my conviction that this legislative period would be essential for the train project that will connect Alcoy and Xàtiva. This initiative would not be possible without a Government of Spain that provides attention to the needs of its citizenship. I know it first hand, since I have maintained frequent dialogues with the ministry, highlighting the priorities of the residents of Alcoy and the neighboring counties.
The importance of connections
The relevance of this project is evident in the need to improve the connections between Alcoy and the rest of the territory. The Spanish government, under the direction of Pedro Sánchez, has shown a firm commitment to the modernization of railway infrastructures, transforming the Alcoy-Xativa line into a tangible reality that will benefit the central counties, and especially its inhabitants.
A 120 -year -old
It should be remembered that the current line, with a length of 64 kilometers, has almost a century of life, and therefore it was urgent to carry this modernization. This action seeks to reduce travel times, increase the frequency of services and improve interconnection with other routes.
A necessary investment
With a budget that amounts to 160 million euros, the works will begin at the end of this month and are expected to be completed by the end of 2026. This comprehensive renewal of the road, including tunnels, stations and communication systems, is essential for the economic and social growth of our counties.
Improvements in mobility and quality of life
In addition to improving the service, this connection will facilitate access to the AVE line through Xàtiva, which is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.This will not only enhance labor and educational mobility, but will also open new tourist opportunities for the interior areas.
