Discounts of up to 50% on monthly subscriptions
Recently, the PREMIERE promotion for the Ganxeta bike, the public bike sharing system in Reus, which was in force during the first weeks of operation, has ended.
The system now offers discounts of up to 50% on all types of monthly subscription until April 30. The 24-hour ticket remains priced at one euro per day, but all monthly subscriptions active until April 30 will cost half the regular price.
The regular monthly subscription of 9 euros now costs 4.50 euros, while the more premium modes, such as Ganxeta Jove and Ganxeta Dorada, drop to 3 euros.
Statements by Daniel Marcos
Daniel Marcos, president of Reus Mobility and Services, has expressed that they want to encourage regular users of Ganxeta to continue using the service and that the amount of the monthly subscription should not be an impediment for any user.
Positive evaluation and extension of the service
From a service point of view, there has been a very positive response from users since its launch. During the first weeks, the service has recorded few incidents, and the average time of a shared bike ride is in the range of 4 to 12 minutes.
It is important to note that anyone from the age of 14 can use this service, although the use of a helmet is mandatory for those under the age of 16.
It has been reported that Reus Mobilitat i Serveis is already working on expanding the capacity of two stations installed in the first phase of the project: the RENFE station, now with 20 anchorages, and the square de Sant Francesc, which currently has 16 places.
Funding and objectives
The Reus shared bike project is included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which has funding from the European Union-NextGenerationEU. This reaffirms the objective of improving urban mobility and promoting sustainable means of transport.
