An inspirational title
The world of Catalan theater has witnessed great success, but few have had as much impact as ‘The Grönholm Method’, a work of Jordi Galceran, who made his debut in 2003. The author revealed that the title arose almost accidentally, as he listened to the news on Marcus Grönholm’s victory in the Rally World Cup. This coincidence gave rise to a name that evokes elegance and strength, as the hilarious method he explored.
A New Chapter in the History of the Ralli
The figure of Marcus Grönholm recently emerged, but this time to connect with Albert Orriols, a Catalan pilot who has made history in the asphalt rally championship. Orriols has just made an exceptional acquisition: a Peugeot 206 WRC that was led by Grönholm, a vehicle that not only symbolizes success, but also has a glorious past with other great names in the rally world.
A vehicle full of legend
This unit of the Peugeot has been behind the wheel of iconic pilots such as Gilles Panizzi and Didier Auriol, and was one of the vehicles that won the prestigious Sanremo Rally of 2001. Orriols cannot contain the joy of his new acquisition and explains how he managed to buy it in record time: ‘I learned that it was on sale on a Friday, and in less than 48 hours, it was my’.
An exciting Dilemma
Now that he has this gem in possession, Orriols is facing an interesting dilemma: should he consider this piece as a mere collection or to participate in competitions with it? ‘We look forward to taking him to races, maybe in the San Marino Rally or Costa Brava,’ he enthusiastically shares.
The feeling of piloting a legend
When asked if he does not worry that such a valuable vehicle may suffer damage to a competition, Orriols responds safely: ‘If you are a pilot, you cannot think about these things. These cars are a pleasure to drive and offer a unique experience. ‘
The growing value of the past
The rally vehicles that have survived the competition become increasingly rare and valued. This particular unit had competed in a French championship before being restored meticulously, and now, as ancient vehicles gain prestige, Orriols is at the ideal time to enjoy both in competition and exhibitions.
A future full of possibilities
With this new addition to his garage, Orriols extends not only his collection, but also his opportunities to compete. Its objectives are clear: to achieve a fifth Catalan championship, to participate in more tests of the Spanish Championship and, why not, to explore races in France. The world of rally has a new chapter waiting to be written.
