Sixth edition of the Local Studies Days
The Santanyí Local Studies Conference is entering its sixth edition with great anticipation. After the success of the last edition held in November 2022 in Cala d’Or, this meeting is eagerly awaited. On the 8th and 9th of November, the town of s’Alqueria Blanca will be the host of this event whose aim is to spread and know the municipality of Santanyí.
Encouraging research and sharing
The purpose of the Local Studies Conferences is to promote research and the sharing of the different social and cultural aspects of the Santanyí area. This meeting is open to researchers, professionals, students and people interested in local issues. Both speakers and attendees are welcome to participate in this day of reflection and exchange of ideas. The only requirement is that the research topics are related to the municipality of Santanyí.
Promoters of the Days
The cultural association LAUSA, together with the Department of Culture of Santanyí City Council and the Institute of Balearic Studies, are the promoters of these days. This event covers topics as diverse as archaeology, literature, geology, music, religion, smuggling, meteorology and agriculture.
Program of this year’s edition
The program of this year’s edition will begin on Friday, November 8 at the Local Parroquial de s’Alqueria Blanca and will continue during the day on Saturday the 9th. The Councilor for Culture of Santanyí City Council, Mateu Nadal, expresses his I hope that the conference will be a great success and that it will exceed the number of attendees and papers presented. This event is an opportunity to share knowledge and see how the municipality of Santanyí attracts experts in different fields of study.
Participation open to everyone
Attendance at the Santanyí Local Studies Conference is open to everyone. The rules for participating can be found on the website of the Santanyí City Council. To register, you must fill out a registration form and send it to jornades@ajsantanyi.net.
