The art of narrating: a cultural legacy
From time immemorial, oral narrative has been one of the oldest forms of artistic expression. In an era prior to writing, stories were transmitted from generation to generation, thus preserving the wisdom and culture of our ancestors.
The impact of stories on our lives
The narrators, or storytelling, transport us to imaginary worlds through their voice, gestures and silences. Its ability to attract the attention of listeners transforms each story into a living experience, where the audience not only listens, but also participates emotionally.
A personal journey to the narrative
My passion for stories was born more than three decades ago, when I started exploring the world of theater and popular culture. At that time, I joined an artistic group that opened my doors to schools and libraries, allowing me to share my passion with a diverse and enthusiastic audience.
The difference between reading and narrating
Narrating a story is an immersive experience. It is not just about transmitting words; It is to create a bond with the audience. Through our facial and body expressions, we can evoke emotions and foster imagination, in a world where images often dominate.
The importance of stories in emotional development
The stories are more than simple narratives; These are tools that help us understand the complexity of life. Through them, we learn values and put ourselves in the skin of others, facilitating the resolution of conflicts and the understanding of various realities.
The magical moment of the start
When we pronounce the famous words ‘there was once …’, an atmosphere of expectation is created. Silence is present, and the audience immerses itself in the story, connecting with the characters and living a spectrum of emotions that accompany them during the story.
The choice of the right story
The story selection is crucial. It must resonate with the age and interests of the audience. A good story must be understandable, attractive and, above all, capable of captivating the imaginary of the little ones.
Happy endings and their meaning
Children tales usually culminate in a positive end. This structure helps to provide security and hope, showing that the good triumphs over evil. Through the experiences of the characters, children learn fundamental values such as friendship and tolerance.
Fun and entertainment through the narrative
The narrative should not always be educational. Sometimes it is simply a means of enjoying and sharing moments together. Stories can be a way of creating links, regardless of the pedagogical goal.
An audience for each story
Stories are universal, and people of all ages can enjoy it. The key is to adapt the message and the language to the needs of the audience. In my sessions, I see how both children and adults connect with the narratives, each in their own way.
The creative process of a narrator
Preparing a narrative session requires passion and dedication. Before sharing a story, I assure you to get to know him well, working on the details that will make him special. From the staging to the interaction with the public, each element must be considered carefully.
Beyond stories: other facets of my life
Apart from the narrative, my work as a social educator is passionate about. Currently, I teach Catalan to young migrants and continue to explore the world of literary creation, writing stories and illustrating them with innovative techniques such as the collage.
