The mayor of Manlleu and more than 200 batlles travel to Brussels to internationalize the denunciation of judicial and ideological persecution

On Monday, the mayor of Manlleu, Àlex Garrido, together with more than 200 mayors and mayoresses from the country, are in Brussels to denounce the judicial and ideological persecution suffered by the representatives of the Government and the Catalan people. This initiative is promoted by the Association of Municipalities for Independence (AMI) and the Catalan Association of Municipalities (ACM), and will include an act of denunciation from the heart of Europe.

Coordinated reactions from local administrations

This is one of the first coordinated responses from local administrations after the imprisonment of half of the Generalitat government and the exile of the rest. In the event, scheduled for this Tuesday afternoon, some mayors and MEPs are expected to take part.

Prior to the event, they will move outside Berlaymont to Schuman and attend to the media, mostly international.
