The Memory Association of Mallorca presents an urgent demand
The Memory Association of Mallorca has filed a lawsuit with the Ministry of the Presidency and Public Administrations to request the immediate suspension of the procedure for repealing the Law of Democratic Memory. In view of the possible repeal of this law, the association is taking measures to defend the rights of the victims and the general public.
Risk of violation of the rights of the victims of the Franco regime
According to the Mallorca Memory Association, the elimination of the Democratic Memory Law would imply a suppression of rights. For this reason, they have requested the urgent and immediate suspension of the repeal procedure to avoid the violation of the rights of the victims of the Franco regime and their relatives.
Lack of information on the repeal procedure
The association has expressed its surprise at the fact that the Government has not informed about the procedure for repealing the law. For this reason, they have requested from the Ministry all the documentation and information related to this administrative procedure.
Measures to avoid revictimization
In addition to the immediate suspension, the Mallorca Memory Association has asked for measures to ensure that the victims of the Franco regime are not revictimized during the repeal process. They have also requested guarantees of audience of those interested in the procedure and information on the appropriate resources in the different phases of the procedure.
