The new Bus of Lleida: a solution for garden city

A success in urban mobility

The City Council of Lleida has decided to maintain the bus line that connects Ciutat Jardí with the Alta Zone, a service that has shown its usefulness after six months of operation as a pilot test. This service is currently used daily for an average of 113 passengers.

Commitment to the community

Cristina Morón, the third Deputy Mayor and Head of Security, Mobility and Civism, emphasized that the decision to maintain this line responds to the demand expressed by the Association of Neighbors of the area. Its intention is to consolidate this service to increase its use among residents.

L6B line details

The new L6B line, which began operating on November 25, was well received, with about 500 users during its first week. This line operates at a frequency of 30 minutes on weekdays, with schedules from 7:15 to 15:30.

Schedules and journeys

The operating details of the L6B line are clear: it does not work on weekends or holidays, and it makes a total of 17 journeys from both the stop of Ricard Viñes and from Ciutat Jardí.

Parades i connexions

This line has 15 stops, some of which offer connections to other transport lines. Among the highlights are Ricard Viñes/Health, which connects with lines L1, L4, L6, L7 and L8, and Enric Granados/Rovira Roure, with connections to lines L2, L3, L5, L6 and L20.

A service adapted to local needs

The new bus is presented as a hybrid solution between a shuttle bus and a neighborhood bus, designed to meet the needs of a constantly expanding garden city area. This initiative represents a step forward in improving the city’s public transport.

Perspectives futures

With the maintenance of this line, the City Council of Lleida seeks not only to improve mobility, but also to foster greater interaction between the neighbors and the available services, thus reinforcing the community fabric and facilitating access to other parts of the city.
