The Permanent Delegation of the Parliament approves a credit supplement

The Permanent Delegation of the Parliament validated this Friday a Government decree to grant a credit supplement to the extended 2023 budgets of 145.2 million euros to alleviate the effects of the drought.

Purpose of the credit supplement

The aim of this credit supplement is to guarantee the execution of the water infrastructure works planned for 2024, enable emergency actions to improve and provide more water resources to the population and ensure new aid to the primary sector.

Details of the decree

The decree includes several items, such as 30 million earmarked for the construction of the floating mobile desalination plant, 18.6 million to build deep wells and 9.1 million for the prevention of forest fires. An increase in staff has also been planned to help with the drought, with the hiring of 209 people.
