The PSOE accuses the Government of neglecting health infrastructure
The Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE) has denounced that the Government of Cantabria, led by the Popular Party (PP), is neglecting the community’s health infrastructure. According to the PSOE, the expansions of the Polanco and Suances health centers are paralyzed, and the projects in Comillas, Castro Urdiales and Piélagos have not been drafted or put out to tender.
The general secretary of the PSC-PSOE and parliamentary spokesperson, Pablo Zuloaga, has expressed his concern about the inaction and lack of commitment of the Government of María José Sáenz de Buruaga. According to Zuloaga, the Government ignores the needs of the citizens of Cantabria and does not comply with the announced projects.
In contrast, the PSOE highlights that during the last legislature, when they were in charge of the Ministry of Health, they allocated 3 million euros in the Budget for 2024 for the development of these projects. However, no progress has been made so far.
Request for immediate action and parental leave
Given this situation, Zuloaga has requested the immediate implementation of the necessary projects to strengthen public health and guarantee the best care for users.
In addition, the PSOE will question the regional government about why it has not processed the eight-week parental leave, established in Royal Decree-Law 5/2023. This measure seeks to promote conciliation between work and family life, and the PSOE urges the Government to comply with this for the well-being of the families and citizens of Cantabria.
