The Town Council of Torre de Capdella acquires the estate of the old colonies of Molinos

A New Acquisition

During this month of April, the Town Council of Torre de Capdella has acquired the estate of the old colonies of Molinos for an amount of 90,000 euros. This property, which for many years served as a boarding house where FECSA staff sent their sons and daughters during the summer months, was previously owned by the real estate development company Landcompany 2020 SL.

An Abandoned Property

After more than 30 years of inactivity, the farm was in a state of abandonment. This motivated the management carried out by the council to locate the owner or negotiate the price, a goal that has finally been achieved.

Details of the Property

With a total area of ​​5,500 square meters, of which 3,300 is built-up area, the estate includes the building of the colonies, the former housing of the workers, a theater and a church. In the past, it also had a swimming pool, a basketball court and a skating rink, although these are now in a very poor state of preservation.

Rehabilitation Plans

The City Council plans to rehabilitate the two existing homes in one of the buildings and offer them as social rent. As for the other facilities, the objective is that their rehabilitation responds to the needs of the local community.
