The UPC Manresa team presents its new competition car prototype
The Dynamics UPC Manresa team, made up of students from the Manresa Polytechnic School of Engineering, has officially presented its latest competition car prototype, the DYN-08. This single-seater racing vehicle will be used by students in the Formula Student international university test.
An improved prototype with major technical improvements
After spending 8,000 hours improving the previous prototype, the team has managed to make significant improvements to the DYN-08. The weight of the vehicle has been reduced by 30 kg compared to the previous version, reaching a total of 220 kg. In addition, technical improvements have been incorporated such as an intake made of carbon fiber and an aluminum final exhaust system. Gear shifting has also been improved, allowing faster shifts from 600 to 50 milliseconds.
A prototype with more power and efficiency
The DYN-08 is equipped with a KTM 690 single-cylinder engine that delivers 80 hp, 10 hp more than the previous version. In addition, the vehicle uses ethanol as fuel, a more efficient and sustainable option. With these improvements, the team expects the DYN-08 to be the best prototype designed to date.
Upcoming competitions and expectations
The UPC Manresa team is excited for the upcoming summer competitions. They will have the opportunity to participate in the Formula Student Netherlands at the Assen Circuit and in the Formula Student Spain at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit. They also plan to compete in the Formula Student Alpe Adria in Croatia. After a season full of successes, the team is confident of closing it with a great performance in these international competitions.
