A Literary Celebration
The presentation of the last volume of the Vicenç Plantada Collection, entitled ‘Year of the Bee. Centenary of the birth of the painter and collector Molletà’, marks the end of the commemorations for the centenary of the birth of Joan Abelló. This event also kicks off the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Abelló Museum and the 15th anniversary of the death of Jordi Solé Tura.
An Enriching Volume
The book collects the presentations of the XXIV Conferences of the Center d’Estudis Molletans, offering a complete vision of the life and work of Joan Abelló. With 11 articles that address various topics such as the Mollet d’Abelló, his masters, the character, the painter, the collector, the traveler, the artist at the service of the entities, the cataloging of his work, the technique painting and conservation, and the creation of the Abelló Museum and the Casa del Pintor, this volume offers an enriching perspective on the artist and his legacy.

The book is available for purchase at the Abelló Museum and can also be downloaded for free from the Mollet Town Council website. At the presentation ceremony, Estela Mas Cagide, councilor of the CEM, expressed her gratitude to all the people who have contributed to the realization of this volume, highlighting its importance as a reference for scholars of life and work by Joan Abelló.
Celebration and Artistic Representation
The presentation event included the theatrical performance ‘La casa número 90’, which was attended by the daughters of the painter Abelló and the widow of Jordi Solé Tura. Through this representation, an intimate view was offered of the concerns of the mothers of Abelló and Solé Tura regarding the paths chosen by their children, while enriching the understanding of their trajectory and contribution to society.
