A budget with a vision for the future
Torrelavit City Council has taken a decisive step towards the modernization of the municipality with the approval of the budget for the year 2025, which amounts to 2,695,430.73 euros. The extraordinary session, held last Monday, had the support of Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya and ViT, while Junts per Torrelavit chose to abstain. This budget reflects a clear intention to improve public services and local infrastructure.
Outstanding investments in public services
Among the most relevant initiatives, the purchase of a new vehicle for the municipal brigade stands out, with an expected cost of 70,000 euros. In addition, the Participatory Budgets will continue with their third edition, with an increase of 1,000 euros, thus reaching a total allocation of 20,000 euros to promote citizen participation in budgetary decisions.
Art and culture as axes of cohesion
Torrelavit joins the ‘100 villages, 100 murals’ project promoted by Pilarín Bayés, allocating 8,470 euros to the creation of a mural that will capture the essence of the municipality. This action will not only beautify the public space, but will also reinforce the cultural identity of the community.
Improvements in the water system
The major focus of the 2025 budget is the modernization of the water supply system, with a total investment of 410,571 euros. This initiative will include the detection and repair of leaks, the updating of the water network, the improvement of wells and the digitalization of meters, as well as the installation of a new water tank. These actions are essential to guarantee an efficient and sustainable water supply.
Projects for citizen welfare
The budget also foresees the improvement of public spaces, with an investment of 34,724 euros for the adaptation of the old area of the J.J Ràfols School patio module, which will include shadows and children’s games. In addition, several actions in infrastructure are contemplated such as the bridge on carrer del Molí, improvements to the parks and gardens, and the reform of the Casal de Cultura.
Maintenance of essential services
In addition to infrastructure investments, the budget allocates resources to support student family associations (AFAs), charitable, cultural and social entities, as well as municipal festivals and telecare. Also included are improvements to natural spaces, such as the river path, which contribute to the well-being of the community.
A comprehensive vision for 2025
With a total of 597,070.38 euros allocated for investments, Torrelavit is positioning itself as a model of responsible and sustainable management. This budget not only addresses the immediate needs of the municipality, but also establishes the foundations for long-term development that benefits all citizens.
