New chapter for the Plaça Alfons XII car park
In an extraordinary session held on Wednesday, Tortosa City Council has taken the decision to temporarily manage the parking lot in Plaça Alfons XII. The initiative is accompanied by the initial approval of a new regulation that will define and structure the service. This proposal was supported by members of the government team, including Movem Tortosa-PSC and Esquerra, while Junts per Tortosa opposed it.
Analysis of the concession contract
In May, the council approved an extension of the current concession contract until February. Now, the council has also commissioned a study that will assess the economic viability needed for future reforms and the management of the car park.
Regulation for effective management
The mayor of Tortosa, Jordi Jordan, commented that this decision ensures the smooth operation of the service until a more permanent model is defined. Until now, there were no regulatory regulations for the operation of the car park, an aspect that is considered fundamental for its growth and operation. The new regulation will detail the uses, the rates, and the rights and duties of both users and future managers.
Promotion of local culture with autumn shows
In another item on the agenda, the plenary has approved the public price for tickets to the paid shows of the autumn cultural program. This program will include several performances in small formats and on the street, in response to the reforms that will be carried out at the Felip Pedrell auditorium theater, which will be temporarily closed. All the plenary groups have supported this measure, except Junts, which has expressed its disagreement with the fixed prices.
Renewal of the Tortosa Museum Advisory Board
Finally, the council has approved the creation of a new advisory council for the Museum of Tortosa, a body that had not met since 2019. The council, made up of experts and representatives of the cultural community, seeks to increase participation in the management of the museum and establish a strategic orientation for its development.
Modification of the municipal labor agreement
The session also included the approval of changes to the collective agreement that regulate the working conditions of municipal staff, a measure that seeks to improve working conditions and adapt to the current needs of the public service.
