Tribute to Marco Pantani in the Second Stage

In the second stage of the Tour de France, tribute will be paid to the combative character of the legendary Italian cyclist Marco Pantani, born in Cesenatico in 1970. The day will start from Cesenatico, Pantani’s hometown, and will culminate in Bologna, with a route of 199 .2 kilometers.

The route will include a pass through the Imola circuit, where in 2020 the Frenchman Julien Alaphilippe was proclaimed world champion, before facing four difficulties in the last 50 kilometers, including two climbs to the third category Cota de San Luca, with an average slope of 10.6%.

Slovenian Tadej Pogacar and his Challenge

Slovenian Giro winner Tadej Pogacar is the big favourite to win his third Tour de France, looking to join an elite that includes names like Fausto Coppi, Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, and others.

Where to Watch the Tour de France 2024

In Spain, the Tour de France can be followed through Teledeporte, RTVE Play, Eurosport, LaLiga+ and EITB, with narrations led by renowned commentators and cycling experts.
