A New Course for Espolla
The picturesque Banyuls street, known to the people of Espolla as an urban crossing, is about to be transformed thanks to an ambitious project led by the City Council of Espolla.
Security and Accessibility in the First Plan
With an execution budget of 82,070.50 euros, these works not only seek to improve mobility but also guarantee road safety and accessibility for all citizens.
The town’s mayor, Carles Lagresa, underlines the importance of these improvements, stating that the creation of segregated spaces for pedestrians, vehicles and bicycles will contribute to safer circulation. In addition, the construction of new sidewalks next to the houses will improve accessibility and remove architectural barriers.
Technical details
The new sidewalks and the bike lane will be integrated at the same level as the roadway, with the differentiation marked by colors and materials. In addition, its inclination towards the axis of the street will ensure adequate drainage, keeping runoff water away from the adjacent facades and walls.
Future Plan
Once these works have been completed, the municipality plans to continue with the renovation of the asphalt pavement on Carrer Banyuls, with an additional budget of 48,238.34 euros. Thus, Espolla begins a new stage in its urban improvement, betting on safer and more sustainable mobility.
