Reorganization of traffic in l’Escala
The adaptations in the roads aim to minimize the dangers at the junctions and create a hundred parking spaces.
The City Council of l’Escala has launched a traffic restructuring in certain areas of the air currents, located between the old part of the city and Riells, with the aim of increasing safety at the crossroads and expanding a hundred of parking spaces.
Significant changes
One of the most relevant changes is the conversion of Carrer Puig Borrom into a single direction towards Avinguda Girona. This adjustment will improve safety at the intersection with Calle Mestral and Avinguda Girona, an area previously problematic due to the intensity of traffic and the multiple crossings of streets at this point.
In addition, a single direction of traffic will be established on the stretch of Carrer Llebeig that goes from Carrer Gregal to Carrer Puig Borrom, previously two-way. Carrer Tramuntana and Carrer Migjorn will also have a single direction of traffic, in the direction of Riells along the entire route.
Improvement of pedestrian safety
Another initiative launched in l’Escala is the widening of the pavement of the first section of Carrer del Puig. This project will contribute to increasing the safety of pedestrians in the school zone and will involve several adjustments in the circulation of vehicles. The work will have an estimated duration of 7 to 8 weeks and will involve an investment of around €88,000.
