Urban Planning Initiatives in Solsona: Transformation and Access

Strategic projects for urban improvement

The City Council of Solsona has presented an ambitious reform plan that includes the renovation of the Paseo del Pare Claret, with a significant investment of the Unique Plan of Works and Services of Catalonia (PUOSC). With the aim of improving public space and accessibility, this action is considered a priority, along with other projects such as the adaptation of the local football field and the rehabilitation of the Cal Manel building to house the Local Development Agency.

Financial and executive details

The Puosc for the period 2025-2029 has assigned a total of 531,631 euros to Solsona. The reform of the promenade, scheduled for 2026, has a budget of 440,258 euros, which will be used to replace the damaged pavement, improve accessibility, renew the children’s play area and update the lighting.

Rehabilitation of Cal Manel

With a budget of 240,100 euros, the rehabilitation of Cal Manel is another of the outstanding initiatives. The current facilities, which have been small after ten years of activity, need to be adapted for the functions of the Local Development Agency. The new proposed location seeks to offer better accessibility and functionality.

Improvements in access to football field

To respond to a long citizen demand, the construction of a new entrance to the football field is projected through a walkway from Salvador Espriu Street. This solution will facilitate access to the public, eliminating slopes, and will include adapted public toilets. The investment for this work is estimated at 97,000 euros.

Dissolution of residential areas and transfer of ownership

During the plenary session, the dissolution of the strategic residential area of the martyr’s hut, a sector that has been stagnant for 15 years will also be discussed. The cancellation of this plan seeks to facilitate the development of a soil that has remained inactive.

Transfer of the Road C-462z

In addition, the City Council will reiterate the application for the transfer of the road to La Llosa del Cavall, a procedure that had been previously approved, but now requires a new approach to fulfill the requirements of the Generalitat. This transfer will facilitate the construction of a planned roundabout near the El Vinyet school.

Support to local entities

Other issues of the agenda include the approval of a regulatory basis for the granting of aid to local entities. This initiative, which plans to cover up to 50% of the costs of activities with a limit of 400 euros, seeks to support groups that do not usually access conventional subsidies, such as Solscentience or Coral Sant Jordi.
