These modifications reflect the institution’s desire to optimize its internal functioning.
A participatory and transparent process
The reform process began by the end of 2023 with the formation of a commission consisting of 27 members of different groups. After a long debate and public exhibition, the Statute project was approved in January 2025, with the active participation of 132 people who provided 36 comments and a specific amendment.
Review and legal validation
Once approved, the project will be sent to the Generalitat for its legality control, a process that can last up to four months. Once the final approval has been obtained, the new Statute will be published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC) and the official state of the State (BOE), at which time it will come into force.
