In the city of Valls, the period from mid-November to early December is transformed into a vibrant scene of community celebrations. The two Valls groups, the Joves and the Vella, come together to strengthen social ties, inviting all residents to participate in a wide range of activities.
The Young Children of Valls: A Farewell Full of Emotions
With the end of the Colla Joves festivities, the focus turns to the Remei d’Alcover hermitage. This traditional climb, scheduled for Friday, offers participants two options: to make the ascent on foot or by bike. The expeditions will start from Plaça del Pati at 8 and 9 in the morning.
A Charity Fundraiser and Various Activities
The festivities began on November 15th with an emotional speech by the Nova Muixeranga d’Algemesí, with the intention of raising funds for the victims of the Dana. As the days progressed, the program included a paella competition, a concert at the Red Star and a mass at the church of the Mare de Déu del Lledó.
Colla Vella: A Weekend Full of Activities
The Colla Vella is also preparing for an intense weekend. On Thursday night, the Local will host a dinner and gymkhana, followed by a paella and cake competition at the Kursaal on Friday at noon, with a table-top event that will include musical bingo and karaoke.
Moment of Brotherhood and Celebration
On Saturday, the brotherhood dinner will be held at the Kursaal, with live music by the Loren group and DJ Seryii. Sunday will begin with a mass at the church of Sant Joan, followed by an electronic vermouth in the Local pavilion, where the cards will be given to those born during the year.
A Year of Traditions and Innovations
The annual festival of the Colla Vella has been marked by two weekends full of activities. The first included the presentation of the Foundation, a bike ride and a paddle tennis tournament. The second witnessed the tenth edition of the Intercasteller basketball tournament, a concert and a children’s park that attracted families and friends.
