Expansion of the charging network in Viladecans
The city of Viladecans is about to transform its electrolineras infrastructure, from four rapid charging points to a total of 16. This extension is the result of an effort by the City Council, which will renew two of the existing stations and expand another, as well as collaborating with the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) for the creation of a new station.
Improvements in electric vehicle charging
With the increase of fast charging points, a significant improvement in the rotation of vehicles is expected, facilitating a more efficient service. Currently, Viladecans has five public electroliners, two of which are owned by the AMB, located at the avenues of Miramar and Josep Tarradellas, which already offer two quick connections each.
Details on renewal and extension
The City Council has begun the renovation of the stations located on the streets of Catalonia and the Virgin of Montserrat, improving its quick connections. In addition, the Vila road station is being expanded, which will incorporate two additional quick load connections, while the current semi -epidal load connections will be assigned to the Shared Electric Vehicle Service, Vilawatt.
Collaboration with the AMB
Once the improvements are completed, the municipal electrolineras will be transferred to the AMB, which will integrate them into their metropolitan network. This will allow the AMB to manage a total of six electrolineras in Viladecans, including a new one that is being built near the train station, which will have six quick connection points.
Future of electric vehicles in Viladecans
The City Council is also conducting a study to evaluate the viability of the installation of more public charging points, which will be added to those available in commercial spaces and private car parks. These initiatives are supported by help from the Government Moves Plan, as well as vehicle dealerships.
Growth of Electric Vehicle Park
At the end of 2024, Viladecans will have 577 electric vehicles or plug -in hybrids, representing a vehicle of every 50 registered car. This type of vehicle has experienced significant growth, with an increase of 236% in the last two years, becoming one in 17 of the new registered vehicles.
