Vilanova del Camí joins the cause of sustainable water

An Educational Initiative in the Market Square

The Plaza del Mercat de Vilanova del Camí hosts the traveling exhibition ‘Operation Aigua’, a proposal of rigat water designed to promote responsible use of water resources. This exhibition, accessible for free until March 30, seeks to connect with the local community and report on the water crisis.

Awareness and collective responsibility

With the support of the City Council, this exhibition not only reports, but also causes reflection on water management and its effects on the environment. The initiative seeks to raise awareness among families and schools, with the aim of achieving more awareness of the importance of preserving this life resource.

School visits and complementary activities

During the month of March, students from various schools in the municipality are expected to visit the exhibition, thus contributing to their environmental education. In addition, an institutional hike that will connect the City Council with rigat water is planned to strengthen the message of the sample.

Statements of local leaders

Mayor Noemí Trucharte emphasized the fragility of water as an essential resource in the context of the current climate crisis. In his words, he emphasized the importance of assuming a collective commitment to a sustainable use of water and invited citizens to participate actively in the exhibition.

The rigat water commitment

Francesc Giralt, a rigat water manager, added that sensitization to water consumption is crucial in these times of climate change. In this regard, he emphasized that even smaller gestures may have a great impact on water conservation, encouraging the community to participate in this cause.

An opportunity for reflection

The exhibition ‘Operation Aigua’ is not only an informative sample, but it is also a call for action by society. With an approach to individual and collective responsibility, he seeks to inspire a change in the attitudes of water, a scarce and vital good for our planet.
