The Mayor of Vilallonga del Camp, Gerard Gené, shares with newspapers21 the milestones achieved in 2024 and projected towards the priorities of 2025. With a budget of three million euros, similar to the previous year, the municipality is preparing for new significant investments that seek to improve the quality of life of its citizens.

Strategic investments for next year

One of the most important investments is the purchase of the building of the Agricultural Cooperative, which will be purchased for 150,000 euros. This space, with 700 square meters, will mainly be used for municipal warehouse, an urgent need for local management.

Improvements in public spaces

Another key project is the closing of the park of the stops. With a new design that seeks to strengthen security, this space will become a more welcoming place for families, avoiding problems associated with the inappropriate use of space.

Renewal and sustainability: an inescapable commitment

The modernization of pool machinery is another priority. With an increase of 30% in attendance, the current filtering system has become obsolete. 60,000 euros will be invested to guarantee the quality of the water and offer a pleasant experience to the users.

Energy sustainability

In addition, the City Council will continue with the renewal of public lighting and the water network, with the aim of reducing energy consumption by 50% compared to the previous year. This not only benefits the municipal budget, but also contributes to environmental sustainability.

Encouraging local participation and culture

In the cultural field, the City Council has decided to organize the Feast of the Elderly, an event that will bring 250 people to enjoy a brotherhood lunch in Vilallonga. This change of location seeks to facilitate access and comfort for attendees, avoiding the disadvantages of travel.

Spaces for Youth

The creation of a youth premises is also a priority. With the support of participatory budgets, the City Council is committed to working collaboratively with young people to design a space that responds to their needs.

Toward sustainable mobility

Finally, the municipality seeks to improve urban mobility through the preparation of a sustainable urban mobility study (EMUS). This study will facilitate the creation of a municipal car park, thus contributing to the obstruction of public roads.

With these initiatives, Vilallonga del Camp is positioned as an example of proactive municipal management, focused on the well -being of its citizens and the sustainability of the territory.
