Premi Work Experience: an invaluable opportunition
Covestro, together with the Higher Technical School of Chemical Engineering at Rovira i Virgili University, has honored Xavier Alegría, a prominent student of the Master of Chemical Engineering, with the Work Experience Award. This distinction, which celebrates its seventh year, seeks to promote the professional growth of young talents and encourage innovative projects in the chemical sector.
An Economic and Professional Impulse
The prize includes a scholarship of 3,000 euros, aimed at covering the costs of the first year of the master’s degree, as well as the possibility of practicing at the Covestro facilities in La Canonja during the second year of studies. This experience not only helps to deepen theoretical knowledge, but also allows students to work on projects that can be part of their final master’s work.
Xavier Alegría’s project
Xavier Alegría, this year’s winner, will delve into an innovative project that explores the use of artificial intelligence to analyze the voltages of an ODC electrolyting. This technology, which has been implemented for the first time at the Covestro Chlorine plant in Tarragona, seeks more efficient and responsible energy consumption.
Fostering sustainability and innovation
Every year, ETSEQ-URV students have the opportunity to participate in this initiative, working on projects that reflect the innovation and sustainability values promoted by Covestro. This not only strengthens their academic training, but also connects them with the industrial world.
Expert statements
Andrea Firenze, CEO of Covestro España, has expressed his vision on the importance of developing young talent: “The future of the chemical sector depends on the ability to train innovative professionals and committed to sustainability.
