A day of youth creativity
On Tuesday, March 11, the City Council of Santa Coloma de Queralt became the scene of an innovative presentation, where adolescents from 14 to 15 years old from the Joan Segura Institute presented their ideas after six collaborative work sessions, guided by the Cooperativa La Bastida.
Various proposals for the community
Ocho proposals were presented by the young people in front of the mayor, Josep Jaume Corsellas, and the Councilor for Youth, Berta Navarro. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and provide suggestions, thus enriching the debate.
Recreational activities and public spaces
The ideas included improvements in public spaces such as the football court and the Aiguadolç, as well as leisure activities such as a holi party and a foam event. The young people also proposed video game and football tournaments, as well as excursions and a party with electronic music.
A collective commitment
The purpose of this participation project is to foster youth involvement and their awareness as agents of change in their community. The young people worked in non -formal education dynamics, where they were able to express their needs and concerns.
Knowing the associative fabric
During the sessions, time was spent on the entities of the local associative fabric, assessing their impact on the community and identifying those with greater youth participation.
Promising future for youth proposals
The Cooperativa La Bastida, with the support of the Youth Council, seeks to strengthen the connection of young people with the social life of Santa Coloma, especially for those in the age range of 14 to 16 years. By 2024, two of the proposals, the Skate Park and the flag, will be underway thanks to the collaboration of young people and authorities.
