A goal by Younis El Khedar gives victory to Sant Pere Pescador in Tercera Catalana
Sant Pere Pescador caused a surprise last Saturday by defeating the Catalan Third League leader, Sauleda, 0-1 on their own field. Jordi Vilà Trona’s team was solid and effective and took the three points thanks to a goal from Younis El Khedar in the 30th minute. Sant Pere Pescador thus recovered from the defeat suffered the previous week against La Punxa and added their sixth win in the last seven games. With this result, the yellow and black team is just one point behind Sauleda and keeps its chances of fighting for the champion title intact.
Roses City misses a golden opportunity and Monells gets into the fight
The one that could not take advantage of Sauleda’s setback was Roses City. Enzo Galli’s team had the chance to become the leader of the Third Catalana for the first time this season if they beat Monells, but were defeated 1-3 against a rival that has been encouraged to party and is already fourth in the standings. . Monells won with goals from Marc, Dani and Gerard, while Roses City could only close the gap with a goal from Álex. Roses City thus remains three points behind Sauleda and sees Monells equal them on points.
The Agullana and the Portbou are also not making any profit and the Llançà is making life difficult
Two other teams that did not know how to take advantage of Sauleda’s fall were Agullana and Portbou. The Alberenses tied 1-1 against Empuriabrava-Castelló B, who had just beaten the leader; and the border team lost a crazy game on the field of La Punxa (5-3), in Palafrugell, in a duel that ended with nine players and where Alt Empordà’s top scorer, Torque, scored again. Agullana and Portbou remain four and five points behind Sauleda, respectively, and see how Monells overtakes them in the table.
The Llançà, on the verge of descent
In the lower zone, Alt Empordà de Peralada puts Llançà in a tight spot after beating them 0-2, as it leaves them just one point away from relegation. And, Base Roses and Roses B, are breathing after winning, by 1-0, at Mont-ras and at Bàscara.
