The PP and Vox show their opposition to the Stellar Year
The PP and Vox have once again demonstrated their opposition to the Catalan culture of the Valencian Country. In this case, they have rejected the proposal of the Commitment to declare 2024 as the Year of Estellés, in commemoration of the centenary of the birth of the poet Vicent Estellés. This proposal was rejected by the extreme right of Vox, who stated that they did not want to whitewash the separatist left that is working against the Valencians. The PP, for its part, did not give any adequate justification for its vote against.
Commitment Reactions and PSPV
Both Compromís and the PSPV have criticized the attitude of the PP and Vox. Compromís deputy, Verónica Ruiz, has reprimanded the people who have refused to honor the poet on three previous occasions. From the PSPV, deputy José Muñoz has regretted that the extreme right hates Valencian culture and is contaminating Valencian institutions. He added that it is necessary to expel the extreme right and the Popular Party from the institutions to claim Valencian culture and freedom.
