Diana Riba’s background
Before becoming an MEP for Esquerra Republicana in 2019, Diana Riba worked as a bookseller in Sant Cugat, her hometown. However, her life took an unexpected turn when her husband, Raül Romeva, was imprisoned for his participation in the 1-O Government.
The passion for books
Diana Riba has always had a great passion for books. Even before becoming a bookseller, her first job was helping her mother arrange words alphabetically to create dictionaries. This early experience with letters and words marked her deeply.
The book that has marked her
When asked which book has marked her the most, Diana Riba highlights the novel ‘Aterrizaje’ by the Catalan author Eva Piquer. Although she has been a bookseller and has had the opportunity to read many books, this recent reading has left a deep mark on her.
Emotions and recommendations
Regarding her most recent emotions, Diana Riba mentions that the last time she cried was during an Esquerra Republicana event in Vic, where the amnesty was celebrated. Furthermore, when asked what she would bring in her suitcase if she traveled to Brussels, she mentions that her toiletry bag would be the first thing on her list.
Finally, Diana Riba recommends visiting the city of Strasbourg, especially its canals, as a must-see place for those traveling to Brussels or Strasbourg.
