The fire originated in a house on the ground floor in Carrer de la Muralla
A fire caused two victims with serious injuries in Balaguer (Noguera) this Friday morning. As reported by the Fire Department, the fire was declared at 01.05 hours in a house on the ground floor located on Carrer de la Muralla. Four paramedics were dispatched to the scene, where they found extensive flames and an injured person outside the house.
Firefighters rescued another victim from inside the house
The officers quickly began the search and rescue of another person who was inside the house. She was found with serious injuries and was taken out urgently. Both victims were evacuated to Moisès Broggi and Vall d’Hebron hospitals. The fire was extinguished at 01.52 hours.
The fire affected two rooms and a large part of the ground floor
The fire caused significant damage to two rooms and a large part of the ground floor of the house. In addition, the entire property was affected by smoke. To extinguish the flames, the Fire Department had two water trucks, a light command and coordination vehicle and the truck with a self-ladder.
The two injured people are in serious condition
Sources from the Medical Emergency System (SEM) indicated that the two injured people are in serious condition. One was transferred to the hyperbaric chamber of the Moisès Broggi Hospital due to smoke inhalation, and the other, with burns, was evacuated by helicopter to the Vall d’Hebron. The medical helicopter and four ground units were activated. Three Mossos d’Esquadra patrols and members of the Local Police were also present at the site.
