Investigations into the Saler fires point to intentionality

The representative of the Spanish government in the Valencian Country, Pilar Bernabé, has stated that the investigations carried out on the fires that occurred in the Saler area point to the fact that they were intentional.

Ongoing investigations

According to Bernabé, the Civil Guard and Seprona have gone to the scene to carry out the relevant investigations. In addition, the city council has requested the court, which is investigating previous fires in the same area, to geolocate the mobile phone of the suspect individual, since the fires have started near his residence.

Continuity of investigations

Bernabé emphasized that the Civil Guard has been carrying out investigations for some time and is collecting all relevant evidence and evidence. However, he has stated that the process is under judicial review and that more information will be made public when it becomes available. So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the fires.

Evolution of fires

The last fire in Saler started on Monday afternoon and was considered stabilized early the next morning. During this time, a total of fourteen hectares have burned. Due to the proximity of the fire to the apartments, around thirty people had to be evacuated, but yesterday afternoon they were able to return to their homes.
