New opportunities for media: Subsidies for communication projects

A strategic investment in communication

The President’s Department has launched a creation of grants aimed to promote and establish the Catalan communication space. This initiative focuses on private companies that edit both digital media and paper, and supports projects in Catalan and now for the practice of 2025.

Calling details and its funding

In a total budget of 1,956,000 euros, the quania has experienced a reduction of 30,79 percent compared to 2.826,000 euro in the year before, which was then increased to 3.826,000 euros. The applications will be introduced before April 14.

Changes in funding strategy

In the early March, Carles Listenan, Secretary of Media and Broadcasting, reported on the refactoring of subsidies, with the aim of providing more resources to the structural grants, dealing with the budget in 25 percent for projects and 75% for structures.

Conditions and requirements for the application

Projects must be fully executed during the year of the summons, with the Venezuelan language, and also make sure that they are related to copyright protection regulations and count on a minimal team of three people at full time.

Atomic and deortological unions

Provisions should meet the Contoological Code of the University of Journalists, guaranteeing a respectful treatment of content and a plural representation of genders, avoiding sexists.

A commitment to verracity and diversity

The amount of subsidies cannot exceed 70% of the total cost of the project, with this initiative, the government seeks to combat information and promote further and diverse communication in the Catalan media landscape.
