Aid to reduce common expenses and promote cultivation
The Cabildo of La Palma, through the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries led by Alberto Paz, has announced in a press release that it continues to support the primary sector with various aid that aims to reduce the expenses involved in this activity and promote the recovery of the medians.
Alberto Paz, the island councilor of the area, has explained the different lines of aid that the Corporation offers to the sector and how interested people can request them.
“The primary sector is part of our culture and our economy, that is why we have to strive to keep it alive and to improve the conditions of those who dedicate themselves to it so that this profession is profitable,” says Alberto Paz.
Benefits for the Island and the environment
The island councilor has also highlighted the importance of informing and guiding people who work in the primary sector about the aid they can obtain, since “it not only allows them to partially alleviate the costs involved in farm work but also facilitates the recovery of land for cultivation, which has a direct impact on the Island, promoting, on the one hand, the primary sector and, on the other, cleaning the land and reducing the danger of forest fires occurring,” says Paz.
Aid for the recovery of the medians
One of the aid offered by the Cabildo is aimed at the recovery of medians, providing beneficiaries with an amount between 600 and 3,000 euros, intended for clearing weeds from the land and recovering them for cultivation.
Aid for small investments in agriculture
Another aid maintained by the Cabildo focuses on supporting small investments necessary for agriculture, such as the acquisition of machinery or irrigation, among others, an aid that covers 50% of the expense of purchases that do not exceed 3,000 euros. .
