The Voice of the Earth: A Musical Show to Raise Awareness of the Climate Crisis

A Unique Musical Show

Valls will host for the second consecutive year the musical show ‘La veu de la Terra’, an initiative of the Pau Casals Learning Camp of the Department of Education of the Generalitat. This show, performed in several cities in Catalonia, has the participation of primary school students from different educational centers.

Awareness about the Climate Crisis

The main objective of this musical show is to raise public awareness of the climate crisis that affects us. More than 300 students will participate in the performances at the Municipal Cultural Center of Valls, scheduled for April 7. The concerts will include the participation of students from the schools La Candela, Eugeni d’Ors, Vedruna, Les Eres de Creixell, Arquitecte Jujol dels Pallaresos, Els Baltis, l’Enxaneta de Valls, and other educational centers in Torredembarra.

Artistic and Educational Collaboration

The production of the show is in charge of the music group Petit Taller de Cançons and the theater company Fes-t’ho com Vulguis. In addition, the Pau Casals Learning Camp has trained the teaching staff and organized the tour, which will include other municipalities in Catalonia.

The Planet as Main Character

In ‘Voice of the Earth’, the planet is the protagonist, raising its voice to denounce the attacks it has suffered for too long. Through this cantata, it seeks to awaken positive emotions and feelings of connection with terrestrial landscapes.

Accompanying Educational Activities

In addition to the performances, more than 44 educational activities have been prepared to be used in schools and institutes. These activities include didactic material, video clips, song scores, teaching guides, and curriculum programs to facilitate the work of teachers.
