The Robbery at María del Monte’s House
This weekend, Antonio Tejado, known for his participation in television shows, was arrested on suspicion of being behind a robbery at the home of the famous singer María del Monte. The incident occurred one night last August, when a group of five hooded men broke into the artist’s home.
María del Monte and her husband were at home when they heard a loud bang. The intruders had entered by force, tied and gagged the singer, and took a large amount of high-value objects. The situation left the entire family shocked.
The Presumption of Innocence
Surprisingly, María del Monte has publicly asked that the presumption of innocence of her nephew Antonio Tejado be respected. Although suspicions are strong, the singer insists that she should not be distrusted without conclusive evidence. “I will not suspect anyone until the judge says what he has to say,” she said excitedly before the media microphones.
Inmaculada Casal Breaks her Silence
Inmaculada Casal, wife of Antonio Tejado and host of a program on Canal Sur, has spoken about the situation. “I am bad, very bad. We have lived a horrible experience for five months. Our lives were at stake. Now I trust in justice and its guarantees. It is my duty as a journalist to say something because I owe you respect,” she declared.
Casal also revealed that investigators suspect that someone with inside information was behind the robbery, since the thieves knew exactly what items to take. “It’s been a traumatic experience,” she added. Currently, eight people are detained and awaiting the judge’s decisions.
