Today, March 1, it has been 25 years since the Convention on the Prohibition of Anti-Personnel Mines entered into force.
Tomorrow, March 2, it will be 50 years since the Franco dictatorship assassinated Salvador Puig Antich for a crime that – bullets lost in the middle – it was never proven that he was the author.
It didn’t matter. It doesn’t matter now.
Many asked for mercy to save Puig Antich from the club.
The left-wing anti-Franco opposition (PSOE included) kept a low profile and didn’t want to know anything.
A PSOE that has acted with hypocrisy when it has interested them (such as the Ábalos case).
They were only interested in putting on the false medal of having cleaner hands than anyone else.
Historically, the PSOE is not a political association that has always stood out for its democratic nature.
Through the sewers of the State they allowed the action of the GALs who murdered innocent civilians in the 80s.
Everything to save the indissoluble unity of the homeland.
with bullets
Maider García knows this – daughter of the last fatal victim of the GAL – who has never obtained an explicit and sincere forgiveness from any Spanish government.
This thing about bipartisanship between the two sides of the same coin is ridiculous: the PSOE and PP which have never stopped favoring general budgets aimed at the arms industry.
Budgets that end up in tenders, business and interests of companies that manufacture bullets and mines, also related to juicy commissions and contracts without any transparency.
They are not the only ones.
The European Commission through its leader Ursula von der Leyen has already urged to strengthen the war economy.
More weapons More missiles More bombs more tanks
And also more mines like those exported by Spain to Israel according to the Delàs Center for Peace Studies.
