Palma’s EMT is improving the public transport service from Monday

More frequency and more departures on several lines

The Empresa Municipal de Transports de Palma (EMT) launches next Monday, March 4, a series of actions to improve the public transport service on weekdays, with increased frequency and additional departures on several lines.

Lines L5 (Es Rafal Nou – Plaça Progrés) and L8 (Son Roca – Sindicat) increase their frequency, offering service every 6/8 minutes. Likewise, the L25 (Arenal-Plaça de la Reina/Catedral) has improved frequency and will pass every 10/11 minutes.

Additional outputs to cover detected demands

Other lines incorporate additional departures at the beginning or end of the day, meeting the demands detected. Thus, the L33 (Son Espases-Son Fuster) adds a new departure from the Hospital at 10.45 p.m., the L25 adds a first departure at 5.25 a.m. from the Arenal and the L35 (Aquarium – Plaça Reina/Catedral ) incorporates a new last departure at 00.45 hours. Finally, the A2 line (Airport-Arenal) will have articulated buses on its route to be able to transport more passengers.

Schedule modifications to adapt to operational needs

With the aim of adapting to the operational needs of the service, some exits of lines L7 (Son Gotleu-Son Serra/ Sa Vileta/Son Vida), L10 (Son Castelló-Sindicat), L12 ( Sa Garriga-Nou Llevant), L19 (UIB and Parc Bit-Porta del Camp), L20 (Portopí-Son Espases), L24 (Antiga Presó-Nou Llevant), L29 (Son Espases-Plaça del Progrés) and L39 (Son Espases) -Palace of Congresses). No changes are expected on weekends or holidays until the end of March. From the EMT, users are advised to check the timetables of their frequent lines on the website and the app.
