The Paeria imposes 718 sanctions for breaching the ordinances in 2023

The majority of sanctions are for violations of the civility and coexistence regulations

The Paeria of Lleida imposed 718 sanctions for breaching municipal ordinances during the year 2023. Of these, 439 were for violations of civility and coexistence regulations, 141 for keeping animals and 115 for road cleaning and Waste Management.

Likewise, the City Council sanctioned 22 minor infractions of the municipal ordinance on the use of public roads for using or occupying the public road without a license for profit. It also imposed a serious penalty within the taxi regulations, for offering the service without the corresponding license.

The infractions to the rules of civility and coexistence are all minor

The 439 sanctions under the civility and coexistence ordinance are of a light nature. 42% are for disturbing the rest of the neighborhood, 25% for defecating on public roads and 23% for drinking alcohol in unauthorized places.

Violations of the animal keeping regulations are divided between minor and serious

Regarding the animal keeping ordinance, 34% are minor non-dangerous animal violations, while the rest are potentially dangerous animal violations. In terms of non-dangerous animal offences, 44% are for having a dog that causes nuisance in the neighborhood and 23.5% for not cleaning up the animal’s excrement or urine.

In terms of dangerous animal offences, 70 penalties are serious for not having a license for keeping and driving potentially dangerous dogs and 19 are for carrying a potentially dangerous dog in a public place without a muzzle or chain.
