A new Primary Care Center (CAP) and Primary Care Emergency Center (CUAP) will arrive in Sant Feliu

Sant Feliu is approaching the arrival of a new CAP and CUAP

It has been announced that Sant Feliu will have a new Primary Care Center (CAP) and a Primary Care Emergency Center (CUAP), which will move to the new location. The mayor, Lídia Muñoz, shared this news in a joint press conference with the member of En Comú Podem in Parliament, Joan Carles Gallego, in the gardens of Palau Falguera. This initiative is part of the pact between the Commons and the Government of the Generalitat to approve the 2022 budget, including the construction of these new centers in Sant Feliu. According to the information, the possibility of building the new CAP in the area of the old football field is being considered, with direct availability from the City Council for the works, regardless of the underground works.

Improvement of health care in Sant Feliu

The social movements of the city and the commission of pensioners have been demanding improvements in health care in Sant Feliu for years. The mayor emphasized that this initiative is the result of previous work by the City Council, with coordinated work with CatSalut to improve services and resources in the city. It is worth noting that the CAP Rambla, one of the most outdated centers of the South Metro, has been the object of special attention, since it has been recognized that it is in worse conditions due to issues of accessibility and outdated facilities. The steps to turn this new CAP into reality will be carried out during the first quarter of 2022, working on the agreements to make this investment.

Historic vindication of the CUAP

The mayor recalled that the claim of the CUAP goes back ten years and after a political, institutional and public struggle, it will finally come true. This agreement supersedes the previous proposal of 2019 for the creation of a CUAP in Torreblanca, as it has been assessed that this new proposal fits better to centralize and organize resources in the same building. In addition to the CUAP, the new CAP will also include rehabilitation and pediatric services, among others.

Claims for pediatrics at CAP El Pla

The continued claim to Health has been made for the pediatric service to return to CAP El Pla, after the Department announced that this service would remain permanently at CAP Rambla. The mayor has stated that the City Council will continue to insist on recovering this service, as it considers that the interests of the city are not covered without the pediatric service in El Pla.
