Three young people arrested for a suspected robbery with force
Last February 8, agents from the investigation and public security units of the Mossos d’Esquadra of the Reus Police Station arrested three individuals dressed as real thieves who were trying to rob a bar in Reus. The detainees, between 18 and 20 years old, were caught looking into the interior of the bar through a window that appeared to be open on Avinguda Sant Bernat Calvó.
An arrest thanks to the work of prevention and investigation
The agents, who were carrying out prevention and investigation tasks in Reus, observed the three individuals dressed in dark clothing, with masks, hoods and baseball caps. Seeing the presence of the police vehicle, the suspects threw a tool on the ground and tried to flee hastily. Officers relayed the description of the three individuals through the Command Room, and within minutes, public safety patrols located two of them.
Police records and evidence of theft
The individuals identified already had police records for theft crimes. On inspection of the bar, signs were found that two shutters had been forced open and the establishment was open. In addition, a tool was discovered that had probably been used to force the shutters: a metal trowel with a wooden handle.
Arrest and court appearance
The officers arrested two of the men for an alleged robbery at the establishment, while the third was arrested minutes later, when he arrived at his home. The detainees will appear in front of the Reus security court to answer for their actions.
