The Electric Car Revolution
The automobile industry is at a crucial moment in its history. Although sales figures have fluctuated over time, the entry into the scene of 100% electric cars is generating a true revolution.
Starting in 2035, new cars that are not 100% electric will not be able to be sold in Europe. This measure has led many brands to make strategic decisions, but it has also made it clear that not all countries on the old continent are prepared for such a drastic change.
The Price Challenge
One of the main obstacles to the mass adoption of electric cars, especially in Spain, is their price. These models are usually considerably more expensive than combustion vehicles.
Despite technological advances and improvements in range, many customers are still not willing to invest a considerable sum in an electric car that offers a range of around 350 km and does not always have a level of equipment to match.
Market Share
In Spain, electric cars continue to be a minority option compared to combustion engines. Plug-in hybrids, micro hybrids and diesels still lead the market.
Brands are announcing more affordable electric models, with prices close to €25,000. However, for many Spaniards, this figure remains prohibitive. They prefer to opt for compact cars or SUVs with the DGT ECO label, which offer good equipment and efficient mechanics at a similar price.
The Crossroads of Mobility
Ultimately, the choice between gasoline, diesel or electric becomes a crossroads for consumers. Each option has its advantages and disadvantages, and the decision should be based on individual needs, budget, and environmental awareness.
Modern mobility challenges us to consider not only efficiency and performance, but also the impact on the environment. What’s your choice?
