‘Premis DonaTIC 2024’ awards: 70 nominations and new categories

A total of 70 candidates will compete in the tenth edition of the ‘Premis DonaTIC’ awards, which seek to recognize the fundamental role of women in the professional, business and academic world of new technologies and the CTEHM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Humanities and Mathematics). These awards also aim to provide contemporary female references in these fields to children and young people. Since its first edition in 2015, a total of 777 nominations have been submitted, consolidating these awards as references in the recognition and dissemination of the role and talent of women in the technological and digital field.

Expanded Categories

The ‘DonaTIC 2024 Awards’ are divided into 8 categories grouped in three areas: professional, academic and disclosure, and dissemination and related initiatives. In this edition, the number of awards has increased from 10 to 12, as the ICT Student category now has 4 subcategories, instead of the 2 it had until now. The number of applicants for the DonaTIC Divulgadora Award stands out, with 16 nominations, the highest number of applicants in this category.

Distribution of Applications

The 70 candidacies submitted during the call period are distributed in professional, academic and outreach and related initiatives. The 16 nominations in the Disclosure category and the 12 in the Reference Initiatives category stand out. In the professional field, there are 8 nominations for Entrepreneur, 5 for Businesswoman and 4 for Professional. In the academic and disclosure field, there are 6 nominations for Academic/Researcher, 7 for Disclosure and 12 for ICT Student.
