Snowfall in Pallars Sobirà and Alta Ribagorça during the Carnival weekend

The snowfall during the Carnival weekend in Pallars Sobirà and Alta Ribagorça favored the presence of skiers on the slopes of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC). The new snow has encouraged the fans, who in many cases have taken the opportunity to ski for three days, since Monday was a holiday of free choice in many educational centers.

Port Ainé and Boí Taüll stations

Thus, around 10 centimeters fell in Port Ainé, which allowed the station to be left white again. Meanwhile, in Boí Taüll, 7,732 ski passes have been sold between Saturday and Monday, but resort officials point out a large influx of people who went there to enjoy the snow. In addition, the complex received more than 25 new centimeters that allowed it to open six new tracks and reach the 19 available.

The presence of snow after anticyclone days

After days of anticyclone, the snow made an appearance again on the ski slopes of the Pyrenees, especially in the west. Although the disturbance came from the Atlantic, the ski slopes welcomed the precipitation, which had not fallen for days and was noticeable in some areas.

Improvement of snow conditions and skiing practice

The drop in thermometers has also allowed the stations to produce snow to improve conditions for the next few days, as the anti-cyclone is expected to settle in again and the temperature in the mountains climbs. However, the snow that has fallen allows skiing to be practiced in good conditions and from the FGC stations they value positively that the fans continue to bet on practicing the white sport.
