Start of the XII Bages Heritage Days
This Friday will see the start of the XII Heritage Days, an annual event organized by the Bages Studies Center. This year, the conference will focus on the historical role of mills and hydraulic devices in Bages.
The value of mills and hydraulic devices
During the days, an exhaustive analysis of the mills and hydraulic devices will be carried out as an important part of the cultural and historical heritage of Bages. Their importance and their current situation will be highlighted, with the aim of making them known and promoting knowledge of history.
The problem of water and natural resources
At a time when the issue of water is central to the use of natural resources, the conference will also address this issue. Possible lines of work will be sought to preserve, study and learn about this heritage as a collective good, both in the present and in the future.
Featured speakers
The 12th Bages Heritage Days will feature the participation of prominent speakers in different fields related to the subject. Among them are Jaume Perarnau Llorens, director of the National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia; Mireia Vila Cortina, historian and archaeologist; Rosa Serra Rotés, historian; Lluís Virós Pujolà, PhD in economics (economic history); Albert Fàbrega Enfedaque, historian; David Ferré Gispets, doctor in history, and Salvador Redó Martí, journalist and historian.
Guided visit to the Alzina mill
On Saturday 3 February there will be a guided tour of the Alzina mill, located in Castellbell i el Vilar. This visit will be carried out by members of the El Brogit collective.
