The driver of the motorcycle lost his life in the crash, which also involved a car
A tragic traffic accident took place this Wednesday night on the TV-3141 road, in the municipality of Riudoms. A motorcyclist collided with a wild boar that came out onto the road and was then hit by a car traveling in the opposite direction. The motorcyclist, a 45-year-old man from Vinyols i les Arcs, died instantly from the serious injuries he suffered.
The Catalan Traffic Service reports the situation
According to the Catalan Traffic Service, the accident occurred around 10 p.m. at kilometer 3.4 of the TV-3141, a road that connects Riudoms and Montbrió del Camp. With this victim, there are already 18 people who have died in traffic accidents on the Catalan road network this year, according to provisional data. The reasons for the collision are being investigated by the Mossos d’Esquadra, which sent seven patrols to the scene.
Traffic was blocked for two hours and emergency services were called
Due to the accident, traffic was interrupted in both directions until midnight, when traffic was restored. Several emergency teams intervened in the situation, among them two crews from the Generalitat Fire Department and two ambulances from the Medical Emergency System (SEM). In addition, the psychological support service of the SEM was also mobilized to attend to the people affected by this tragic accident, among them the occupants of the tourism, who were unharmed.
