Andorra Telecom updates the National Frequency Allocation Table

Adaptation to Technological Changes and New Services

At the last meeting of the Council of Ministers, at the proposal of Andorra Telecom, the modernization of the national frequency table, known as TNAF, was approved. This update is crucial to adjust to technological changes and new emerging services in the telecommunications sector. This table is an essential instrument used to allocate the different radiocommunication services and the various frequency bands, from 8.3 kHz to 3,000 GHz, specifying the use of each frequency in the Principality of Andorra.

Importance of the Update

The TNAF is like a map that indicates to the different communication services, such as mobile telephony, radio or television, on which frequencies they can operate. This update ensures that all communication services can operate efficiently, without interference and in accordance with international standards and technological advances. The main changes include adaptation to the attributions of the recent Radio Regulations of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the incorporation of new services, the elimination of obsolete attributions and the expansion of frequency bands.

International Management and Constant Updates

The management of the radio spectrum of the TNAF follows the international treaties and agreements of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the European Union (EU), the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) and the Institute European Telecommunications Standards (ETSI). This document requires constant updates to maintain spectrum order in Andorra and ensure compliance with international regulations.
